This is a 2011 American political drama film directed by George Clooney and starring Ryan Gosling, George Clooney, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Marisa Tomei. In the light of the campaigns of Obama and Romney for the coming presidential elections in the USA this is a very interesting and up to date film. "The Ides of March" takes place during the frantic last days before a heavily contested Ohio presidential primary , when an idealistic campaign press secretary finds himself involved in a political scandal that threatens to destroy his candidate's shot at the presidency. When you want to see a good and realistic film about the way Americans elect their leaders, then come Wednesday night at 8pm to Cafe Amsterdam. As always admission free  |
