Dear All, This Wednesday, the 2nd of September we have a very special guest for our Cultural Evening in Cafe Amsterdam. It is Mrs. Vesna A Wallaca, a Professor of Buddhist Studies at the University of Oxford. She spent her last 10 summer holidays working in Mongolia to do research on Buddhism in Mongolia. The title of her talk is: "How Buddha Vajrapani (Ochirvaany) became a Mongol". This talk will discuss the ways in which a Buddhist deity has been acculturated into Mongolian Buddhist life and the ways in which it has shaped the Mongolian Buddhist identity.
